The negative number on a bat represents its length-to-weight ratio. For example, a 30-inch bat weighing 26 ounces would have a -4 designation.
Youth Little League bats allow for a bat with a barrel size up to 2 ¼" in diameter and usually range in drop from (-10) to (-13). Major/Senior Little League bats are many times referred to as "Big Barrel Bats". A Major/Senior Little League bat allows a 2¾" diameter barrel and a (-8) to (-10).

Little League Approved Bats
Only bats marked with the USA Baseball logo similar to below are allowed for Little League use. Bats manufactured to USSSA or BBCor specifications are not allowed for use. Please ensure the logo below is visible on any bats purchased for Little League play.
